Happy Valentine's Day

Daniel got creative for Valentine's this year. He knows I am not crazy about traditional boxes of Valentine chocolates so he put together a combination of my favorite candies. There are Hot Tamales, Whoppers, Jelly Bellies and Almond Joy Pieces.

I was so impressed with his creativity and thought. We said we wouldn't buy each other gifts this year. We were just going to go out to eat by OURSELVES for Valentine's Day. Well, he surprised me with all my favorite candies!

I asked how he got this idea. He said he saw it on a Martha Stewart show. Oh MY!!!! I shouldn't be surprised since he cross stitched me a picture for Christmas when we were dating. He's my love and I am so appreciative that God has blessed me with such a thoughtful and caring husband. Thanks Daniel!!! 3!

Daniel and I have had our share of trials the last four years. Not with our marriage, but attacks from the devil in our lives and our children's lives. Some of these attacks could have impacted our marriage. The devil is out to destroy families and marriages. At times we were lost on how to react. But after digging in to God's Word in search of why these attacks were happening and how God would want us to react, we were reassured that God is with us every step of the way and has a plan for us.

Once we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we gave up revenge. God will take care of those that sin against us. The Bible tells us to forgive those who have sinned against us and we will also be forgiven. If we interfere and we don't let God work, we may miss the blessing he has in store for us. Still not sure where he is leading us . . .but it must be something terrific that will glorify His name and kingdom.

As a result of these attacks, Daniel and I have grown closer in our relationship with God and each other. I can only imagine where our marriage would be now if we didn't allow God to be in the middle of it.

We've also learned that you never know what someone is going through. Don't judge others in how they are acting or what they are doing. We all try to keep that perfect smile on our face so no one knows of our troubles. Life isn't perfect and honestly it's kind of hard sometimes. So lets lift each other up in prayer on this Valentine's Day. God commands us to love one another.

" 'Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' " Matthew 22:37-39

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. . . And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. We had a great time building this snowman. Building snowmen is not our specialty here in Louisiana but I think we did alright!

Gracee loves the snow!

Logan really loves the snow too! The boys would throw snowballs and he would chase them.

Logan has been having seizures lately. He went to the vet and got tests run but they didn't find anything. He is now on medicine morning and night for the rest of his life. He is feeling so much better now. He was out of it the last couple of days. He had 4 seizures in 2 days.

Who Dat say it don't snow in Louisiana?

We woke up to Winter Wonderland in Louisiana! The power was out all morning but we didn't care because we have had the best time outside in the snow! We had snowball fights with neighbors and made a snowman. So WHO DAT say it don't snow in Louisiana? Don't you love the Redneck camo snowsuits?

The Saints win the Super Bowl and it snows in Louisiana. God has favor on us!!!!

That global warming stuff is really hurting us here in Louisiana :)
