New Years Eve 2010

Kevin has been counting down the days until he gets to go buy fireworks. Well, today was the day and he was so excited! He carried his basket around the store and picked out each firework that he wanted. It was like Christmas again. I love that each event is so special with him. The big boys had fun getting their fireworks too. But this is Kevin's first year (starting on July 4th) not to be afraid of the fireworks.

We had plans to eat at my parents' house and shoot fireworks there. We had steaks and baked potatoes. However, Kevin went from neighbor to neighbor eating their food. He even brought a to-go plate home from one neighbor. In the pictures below you will see Kevin stuffing his face with a hot dog. You will also see sweet pictures of Andrew helping Kevin light his fireworks. Lots of kids, food, fireworks, friends and fun. We had a great night bringing in the New Year 2011.

The boys are getting ready for bed and then it is going to be movie night. I gave Daniel the movie, The Blind Side, for Christmas. The two of us watched the movie the other night. The kids want to see it now. I LOVED this movie!!!! I admit a few tears came from my eyes while watching the movie. I also wish I had the courage to be like the mom in this movie.

Just a side note. . . as I am typing this I have two dogs right under my legs taking cover from all the fireworks still going on.

Events leading up to Christmas

Well I am actually home by myself. Kevin is at work "jumping" with his daddy. Andrew and Christopher are roaming the neighborhood with their friends. So I am going take this time to catch you up on the events leading up to Christmas.

I've already posted pictures of all Christopher's school and church choir performances. Then there were field trips, Sunday School parties and school parties.

Kevin went on a field trip to a local high school that I graduated from. They have Community Christmas for all the kindergartens around town. There is a high school student for each kindergartner. So Kevin had his own high school buddy that took him to play games, do crafts, eat snacks and take a picture with Santa. I went on this field trip because it was the first one for Kevin to go to in Kindergarten. It was also the first time for him to ride the big yellow bus. I didn't ride the bus. I followed in my car. Well, Kevin was having such a great time with his new high school friend that he asked me to leave. I left with a broken heart. But I was also laughing inside at my strong-willed so grown up third child. He loves for me to be around and will give me big hugs at school but this was a time to be with the "bigger" kids. He also thought it was cool he was at the school that Andrew would be going to next year. Here are a few pictures from the time I did get permission to stay.

Then there were parties to put on and decorations to put out. This year we helped my parents decorate their house for four parties. They had their Sunday School party at their house, the Hallmark Club party and meeting at their house in Dec. and then my mom had Bunco at her house. We also hosted our Sunday School party this year but we had it at In The Zone. Here are the pictures from our party at In The Zone.

Then there were school parties. I am Kevin's Room Mother for his class so I planned and coordinated the party. We played present pass, had a book exchange and ate pizza and snacks. No crafts this year! That does a room mother and teacher in!!!

Well Santa put one under the tree but not just for him. All three boys asked Santa for an Xbox this year. We have two TVs upstairs. One for the Wii and one for the Xbox. Now they can all have something to play with when friends come over. Along with the computer that is up there for online games. No shortage of technology around here. Thank goodness they still like to play old fashion games too. Sometimes we declare it family game night and play Uno, Twister, Battle and Go Fish!



Christopher also had a party at school. Daniel hung out with Christopher at his Christmas party. This is all I got from upstairs with the fifth graders. They did a craft, ate a snack and watched a movie.

 The evening after all the school parties, Christopher's choir performed again but this time at school. The choir director is Mr. Brutus. He is also Christopher and Kevin's music teacher. He was also Andrew's choir director and school music teacher when he was in elementary school. Mr. Brutus is responsible for giving my boys the love of music!!! The Robinsons truly adore this man. Then school was out and it was time to get our house in order so we could go on our trip and begin our Christmas break!!!! I love these next pictures. I love all my boys! And they are such great helpers around the house. They know how to do dishes, fold clothes, vacuum and clean their rooms (when they want too)! Well they knew that in order to go on this trip we must have the house clean first. I do not like returning to a dirty house after a trip. 

 This is not a normal job of everyday cleaning but Kevin wanted to use the Magic Eraser. Who is to turn down a child who wants to clean my door facings and molding? And he is without his shirt because Christopher had his off while cleaning.

I think at this point the only pictures I have left to share are the kids and Daniel decorating the Christmas tree. I will save those for another day. I should probably go do a load of clothes or dishes instead of being on this computer for so long.
